TPG is intentional about building leaders within the company. Tell us about some of the education and training you receive as a member of our First Team?

The Partners Group places a strong emphasis on employee growth, and as a member of First Team, I’ve been fortunate to receive ongoing training designed to enhance our effectiveness as leaders. It has equipped me with the tools to work more effectively with each team member, from understanding what drives their motivation to learning how to navigate difficult conversations. Most importantly, it has strengthened my ability to lead not just my team but contribute to the broader success of The Partners Group as a whole. These programs foster both personal and professional growth, ensuring we lead with empathy, clarity, and purpose.

What are some of the challenges you’ve faced as a company leader within the past few years?

Over the past few years, one of the biggest challenges has been navigating the impact of COVID-19. We had to transition from being in the office full-time to going fully remote almost overnight, and then shift again to a hybrid in-office and remote model. This brought not only employee-related challenges but also vendor issues, which were sometimes difficult to manage. Beyond the pandemic, we’ve also faced traditional challenges such as maintaining employee satisfaction, improving systems, and ensuring the team continues to progress to meet the company’s needs.

How do you feel that TPG leads the way within our industry in operations, leadership, etc.?

I’ve often heard from new hires that TPG feels different compared to where they’ve worked before. They frequently mention how friendly everyone is and how people genuinely enjoy being here. I believe this stems from the strong culture our leadership has established. At TPG, our core values aren’t just words on paper – they guide us every day. We also have a deep commitment to giving back to the community, and our audacious Give 30 goal [to give $30 million back to our communities in time and donations by 2030] reflects the importance we place on striving toward something truly impactful.

What do you feel are your leadership strengths?

I believe one of my key leadership strengths is an ability to foster camaraderie and build genuine relationships within my team. I lead with kindness and empathy, but I’m also able to navigate difficult conversations when needed. I emphasize the importance of driving the team forward to meet our goals and contribute to the overall success of the company. This balance helps create a supportive yet results-driven environment.

What are the important leadership lessons you’ve learned during your time at TPG?

The most important lesson I’ve learned is the value of treating everyone with respect. It’s essential not to rush to judgment but to take the time to fully understand a situation before reacting. I’ve also learned that effective leadership requires adapting your approach based on the individual – understanding what drives each person and what they value helps in managing and motivating them more effectively.

Which TPG core value resonates with you most clearly, from a leadership perspective?

The core value that resonates with me most as a leader is “Own It – do what you say you are going to do.” I firmly believe that when you make a commitment, it’s essential to follow through, even when challenges arise. Others depend on you, and falling short would not only undermine this value but also let your team down. Staying true to your word is crucial for building trust and accountability.
