TPG has a set of five core values on which all its decisions are based – play well with others, be curious, have fun and live well, own it, and be a champion.
Have Fun & Live Well
“I rode my bike to work today,” says Personal Lines Associate Account Manager Chelsea Rossiter. “It’s new, I just got it this weekend!” A longtime Portland resident, Chelsea and her husband JP recently relocated from Portland, OR, to Bend, a city of nearly 100,000 people in Central Oregon, known for its beautiful scenery, lively cultural scene, and active outdoor lifestyle. That new bike will come in handy.
Chelsea has been a part of the Portland office for three years and is the first member of the Personal Lines team to join our Bend office of TPGers, all of whom are in Employer Services. “I let [my manager] Carrie McHale know from the first day I was hired that I was hoping to move to Bend at some point. If my husband found a job opportunity, we’d go.” And three years later, that is exactly what happened. “Once I knew our timeline for the move, coordinating the sale of our home, Carrie and the team were supportive. We already work so well together remotely.”
When asked what it is about this particular core value – Have Fun & Live Well – that resonates, Chelsea says, “You need happy employees to hit the business goals and support clients, along with good technology, intentional management, teamwork – it’s all integrated.”
And as for the TPG core value to which she feels most connected? “The one I live by is ‘Own It.’ In personal insurance, especially here in Bend, people have homes, second homes, autos, recreational toys, and more. It’s my responsibility to keep my clients well informed on what insurance policies they should have to cover their lifestyles.”
Chelsea appreciates the professional life she has found with The Partners Group. “I am so appreciative of the flexibility to live where I want to live, plus the company offsites, happy hours to get to know people better — we’re talking about getting some office inner tubes for river floats! There’s even a trailhead that I can see from our office,” she says. “We all need to maintain work–life balance; moving to Bend is how I am fully experiencing TPG’s ‘Have Fun & Live Well’ value.”
Congratulations to Chelsea on her new adventure. Our Bend team is lucky to have you.
