The TPG Foundation continues to do good work in our communities, this year adding a second major fundraising event to the roster. The 1st Annual Paddle Palooza: Pickleball With a Purpose was held on June 12 at our Southport offices in Renton, WA. Not only did we pull off one heck of a pickleball tourney, but we reached our goal of $50,000 (plus an additional fifty bucks)!
Our two chosen beneficiaries, Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest and Athletes For Kids Youth Mentoring, each received donations of $25,025.
“We’re thrilled that our first Paddle Palooza was such a success,” says TPG Foundation Executive Director Emily-Rose Galati. “Thank you to everyone who participated, supported our cause, and made a difference for Girls Inc. and Athletes For Kids. The TPG community’s involvement really helped us make a significant impact on our non-profit beneficiaries.” (And a big congratulations to our tourney champs, The Day Dinkers – way to go, team!) We look forward to expanding the Paddle Palooza in coming years, so keep honing those pickleball skills, everyone.
And On to Our Next Big Event…
On Thursday, September 5, the Foundation will host the 3rd Annual TPG Throwdown: Cornhole for a Cause, a spirited, competitive fundraiser open to friends, colleagues, coworkers, and all others. Held at Hillsboro Stadium outside Portland, the goal for the 2024 event is to raise $150,000 to give to this year’s chosen recipients: Kinship House and CASA for Children Clackamas County.
“We are so pleased to showcase the work that these two organizations are doing in our communities,” says Galati. “Both non-profits are focused on children who are either in foster care or who come from families tied up in the foster care system. This event will give our beneficiaries a boost toward their significant goals for these kids.”
Gather your teams of two and register today – the more teams, the merrier! Participants can expect great food, drink tickets, and entertainment. Please help us exceed our $150,000 goal and have some fun doing it.
