Giving back to the communities in which we live and work is a fundamental effort.

UPDATE: TPG Throwdown: Cornhole for a Cause
Thanks to the rousing fun and success of TPG’s first annual cornhole tournament on September 21, the TPG Foundation is committed to throwing the event again in 2023 – stay tuned for info.

Throwdown By the Numbers
We were able to raise $35,000 each for our chosen beneficiaries — INCIGHT and Every Child PDX! This amount far exceeded our original goal, thanks to our planning team led by Foundation Executive Director Emily-Rose Galati, our generous sponsors and participants, our team of volunteers, and the total underwriting by TPG.

Here are a few other Throwdown stats, pretty much backed by data (for the most part):

Number of volunteers: 44
Number of participating teams: 52
Number of late nights spent planning: Seemed like 400, probably closer to 4
Number of sponsors: 21
Number of t-shirts printed: 300
Number of beers sold: 750…?? -ish?
Number of times a bag never even hit the board: too many to count

About the TPG Foundation

In 2020, The Partners Group established the TPG Foundation as a means of generating large-scale donations through major fundraising events like the TPG Throwdown. Its mission statement is: “Making a difference in the communities in which we live and work by investing in the health, wellbeing, and education of the next generation.”

All funds generated by the Foundation will be given to specifically chosen charities and non-profits that serve the next generation. The Foundation and its events are in support of our #Give30 Campaign launched in 2020, in which TPG will give back $30 million by 2030 to our employees and to the communities in which we live and work.

More about the Foundation’s Work
While the TPG Throwdown was its first major public event, the Foundation has already raised $75,000 for worthy causes since its inception in 2020, through both employee donations and corporate matching.
