Friends, co-workers, family, clients – please join the TPG team at the 8th Annual Sam Day Soiree on Friday, March 4th at 6:30pm PST. This free, virtual event is a wonderful way to start your weekend, thinking about others and giving back to those in need in our communities.

As many of you know, the Sam Day Foundation is near and dear to our hearts here at The Partners Group; we have been a long-time supporter of this organization that strives to fund research for rare pediatric cancers and life-giving experiences so kids with cancer can survive and live well. About the Date
The date on which it falls – March 4th – has profound meaning. In SDF founder (and Sam’s mom) Lorna Day’s own words:

On March 4th of 2011, Sam Day’s leg was amputated below the knee because of a cancerous bone tumor. He was nine years old. His teacher pointed out that it was the only day of the year that was also a command. We took that to mean something, even though it didn’t make a whole lot of sense. How do you march forth when you’re missing a leg?

Sam used crutches for six months before receiving his prosthetic leg. During that time, we marveled at his ability to propel himself with uncommon agility and speed, while cancer continued to progress inside his young body with relentless force. We lost him August 2016.

The Sam Day Foundation exists because we are compelled to do something about the lack of treatment options for young people fighting cancer. There are obstacles and challenges and very sad days. But like Sam, we want to march forth in pursuit of less toxic and more curative therapies for kids with some of the worst kind of cancers, sarcomas and brain tumors. With people like you and an event like the Sam Day Soiree, we believe we can make a difference.

This year’s Sam Day Soiree is a march forth kind of occasion; a community promise to advance cancer research, one way or another, so that One Day more kids with cancer can survive and live well.

Thank you for marching with us.

Sincerely,

Bob and Lorna Day
