Throughout the month of May, The Partners Group raised $6,885 for the American Heart Association (AHA), whose life-saving research and programs help our local community members and loved ones survive heart attacks, strokes, and congenital heart disease.
To close the fundraising event, a team of TPG employees and their families (including four-legged members) participated in the American Heart Association’s 2019 Oregon & SW Washington Heart & Stroke Walk at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland, OR on June 1. The “TPG with Heart” team completed a three-mile loop, crossing over the Hawthorne Bridge, then circling back via Tillikum Crossing.
“One of our goals at TPG is to give back to the communities in which we live and work,” said Lisa Veber, Lead Event Coordinator and Executive Assistant at TPG. “The AHA walk accomplishes this goal while also giving us a chance to have fun and connect with co-workers and their families outside of the office.”
Why do we walk? The AHA says, “We’re not just walking for our health. We’re finding big science, like the science that created the artificial heart valve.”
As of June 4, 2019, the AHA had raised $842,469 to support their mission to “[build] healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke”—exceeding their original goal of $800,000. We’re proud to support their success!
